One of the most disheartening aspects I’ve found in working as an online psychic in the number of clients who have either been taken to the cleaners by psychic scammers or who have become brainwashed into believing that legitimate psychics should be able to do what the scammers claim they can do.
These are injustices that have not only been unleashed on vulnerable and unsuspecting clients, they also make it next to impossible for legitimate psychics to practice their crafts.
Imagine coming across a psychic who could not only read other people’s minds but could also tell you what they are thinking, feeling and doing at any given time and on top of that could make them do anything you wanted them to do.
In truth no one can do this. Not the best psychic in the world, or the worst scammer on the planet. But there are those in the latter category who claim that they can, and who have no problem taking advantage of your desire to believe them.
Getting the Most From Your Psychic Reading
Let’s face it: there are a lot of bad psychics out there. Or a lot of bad people masquerading as psychics.
There are those who prey on the most vulnerable members of our society by either failing to tell them the truth (after all, they make a lot more money feeding into people’s fantasies), or telling them outright lies for the exact same reason.
The word “Psychic” comes from the Greek word psychikos and means “of the mind” or “of the psyche.” It does not refer to mind-reading or fortune telling or similar mind-blowing parlor tricks.
Unfortunately these are popular misconceptions, based on media mockery and the unscrupulous practices of some who use them to make a quick buck.
Psychic readings can be tremendously valuable, provided that you approach them with both an open mind and a healthy sense of logic. Be sure to read my article When Psychic Readings Fail for insight into the ways they might not be so valuable.
When Psychic Readings Fail
If you’re reading this, chances are good that you’ve had some experience with psychics and psychic readings.
And if you’ve had more than a few, chances are good that you’ve seen how some predictions pan out while others fail. If you’re wondering why, then this article is for you.
While sometimes it’s a matter of finding the right “fit,” and sometimes it’s about forming a connection that is immediately verifiable, more often than not the odds of your psychic reading failing or succeeding are largely dependent on you.
Some clients want a straight up “yes or no” answer. They come in saying they have a “quick question,” which as often as not turns out to be very complicated.
Some want their psychic to “prove a connection” (and then follow that up with a question that even they don’t know the answer to, which means that a connection is impossible to prove based on those parameters).
And some will ignore certain aspects of a reading and zero in on others, depending on which part fits in with the scenario they want to see play out. Then once it does play out they’ll confabulate on the experience based on whether or not the desired outcome was achieved.
